The words of a random person whom I happen to pass by:
"The chase is better than the catch."

Come, take a stroll with me,
and tell me your darkest
deepest secrets.

As I was putting my shoes on after salat il ishaa, I over-heard a conversation four little elementary girls were having. Three of them seemed to be making fun of the fourth one’s overcoat. That fourth girl was a little on the pudgy side and she just stood there trying to fit in with the others. The three little girls eventually left. I pretended it was taking me a long time to put on my shoes because I got a little curious of what would happen to the fourth girl. To my surprise, she took off her jacket and went outside holding it in her hand. Outside in the cold weather. I was wearing three layers and I thought it was freezing. I was shivering. But that eight-year-old girl was so influenced by these words that were told to her that it didn’t matter to her whether or not it was cold. Just because of a few simple words. SubhanAllah.

'How delightfully
the fishes
are enjoying themselves',
exclaimed Soshi.

'You are not a fish',
commented his friend,
'how do you know
that the fishes
are enjoying themselves?'

'You are not myself',
answered Soshi;
'how do you know,
that I do not know,
that the fishes
are enjoying themselves?'

a stolen trust

My toothbrush was stolen. You have got to be kidding me. You see, at first I was like “Maybe someone’s trying to amuse him or herself by thieving my toothbrush.” So then, I ask everybody in my household whether or not they actually have no amusement in their lives that they, in fact, had to rob me off of my toothbrush to attain this sense of enjoyment. No one did. You can guess in what state that left me in: baffled. Thanks to my clever ol’ sister though, we finally figured out who it was. Earlier yesterday, a couple of elementary little boys came over to our house. One of them had to use the bathroom and he resided there for an awfully long time. We came to the conclusion that while in there, he found my toothbrush to be very attractive and therefore decided to take it home with him. Last night, I had to settle for a clear hideous toothbrush. Everybody out there, watch out because there is a new toothbrush-stealer on the loose.

No matter how many times I play Mu'allim, by Sami Yousuf, never have I experienced this tedious feeling I get after I put one song on repeat. And, it’s been a little over a year now. Remarkable.

Wow, February already. That fast eh?
I got a personalized postcard today from a junior high school friend. It was the perfect "cherry on top" to end the day. It was small and simple but yet very special. It nice to know someone's thinking of you just because. It has this magical thing that manages to bring a smile to your face whether or not you're expecting it. Whether or not you want to. Ok, so maybe I have been talking a lot about smiles but really, it's something worth to mention. They're unique, mysterious, even interesting. Think about it. Next time you smile or just witness one, consider what I said. It’s your homework of the day ladies and gentlemen. Class dismissed.
